Upcycling

love injecting new life into something that I'd otherwise throw out. I've been doing it for some time now by shabby chic-ing table and chair sets to earn some extra pennies.
My sister came to me yesterday with an old footstool/storage box to recover. We got some floral material off the market and a staple gun and went mental!

It really is so easy and is a fantastic quick and cheap way of updating a room :)

Summer is here!

I'm sure everyone can agree that it was a must to make the most of the gorgeous weather this weekend.

I spent the majority of Saturday baking cupcakes for my [not so] baby sister's 21st birthday so it meant I had all day Sunday to sit and chill. I even managed to persuade Luke to not go into work so we could make the most of it together.

With Murray in the final of Wimbledon, it meant only one thing - a glass of wine in a pub beer garden with the match on the TV. We came home after the second set, and celebrated Murray's win, and finished the day with a little bit of crafting.

It was really nice to just sit and not clock watch at all all day and just appreciate and make the most of the weather. And after Murray's win, I feel even more proud to be british, don't you?!

Ribbon Girl May Colour Challenge

This month the challenge over at The Ribbon Girl is to make a project using the colours of lilac and lavender.
Here's my entry:
The topper is a LOTV, flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, brad pin and ribbon are from my stash.
The butterfly is a Memory Box die and I've added some diamantes for a bit of sparkle.

A Christmas Present...

I wanted to share this as I am so proud of it. My forté lies with card making, and usually when it comes to anything else craft related I'm not very good. I basically get glue everywhere and cut things wonky.
I made this for my niece for her first Christmas. Unfortunately the picture hasn't come out great but it looks so good hung on the wall. I used my friend's Cricut machine to cut out the letters and then used a variety of things from my stash to decorate - flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, bows, fabric from scraps I found, birds die cut with my Cuttlebug.
As Luke is a joiner, he made the surrounding frame and we had a piece of glass made to fit and voila!

A Summery Card

Myself and another crafting friend have decided to do a Craft Fair at Christmas, so I have made it my aim to make at least one card a night so that I have enough stock!
I'm trying to move away from the pinks and purples that I always seem to use and towards more summery colours.

Dies - heart banner and picket fence from LaLaLand. Bird House from JoyCrafts
Flowers - roses, sunflower and cherry blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts
Card topper - Lili of the Valley
Ribbon and paper are from my stash

Christening Card

I made this card for my niece's christening. It was one of the first cards I made using the Lili Of The Valley card toppers. I made it as an easel card, which unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of :(

A Crafting Welcome...

So after months of encouragement, I finally caved and have started a blog. It's going to be centered around me rambling on about my day to day life, which mostly concerns crafting, baking and my love for exploring new places (hence the blogname).
I seem to have become slightly obsessed addicted to card making lately. My boyfriend, Luke, will probably regret buying me a Cuttlebug for my birthday last year, as this kickstarted my obsession and has meant all saving-for-house plans have gone out the window. I'm hoping to use this blog as a way to keep a memory of the cards I make and to show other crafty lovers what I do (and perhaps mean I spend less time spending and more time crafting and blogging!)
